the end said music by black eyed peas

but there was none.

too short, no background, and minimal effort animating the sprites (zoom in extremely close and use onion skinning to line them up)

I suppose you did the best...

with the material you had...

It's hard to shamelessly plug something like the red cross, and stay remotely funny. That said, do you really think anyone's gonna see this and decide to donate blood? The main fault was that it failed to address the real reason that people don't donate blood (needles), and instead addressed a bunch that no-one ever cared about (un-comfortable chairs).

The theme of the cartoon aside, the animation was solid (I liked the idea of drawing an open mouth then moving the lips around it to lipsync), and the drawings were decent.

7/10

It's about time sticks made a comeback

We get enough madness combat tributes, and plenty of sprite animations (yeah, that one's kinda hypocritical for me), but for some reason, everyone seems to hate sticks more.

It was good, the animation was smooth, and I liked the subtle camera movements that emphisised some of the attacks. Shame it's the last part, hopefully you'll animate something else in the future.

This flash sums up why newgrounds is so great

It's the perfect fan flash movie. It takes elements from popular anime and popular video game characters, and turns them into a solid 25 minuites (including the first 2) of the kind of action that fans of the series like to see.

On top of that, the animation is superb, the effects and filters (as well as the use of shading and the pencil tool to draw the characters), gave the entire thing a real sense of professionalism.

I look forward to whatever you choose to animate next.

That was fukin' awesome!

That was the best thing I've ever seen!!

Apparently I'm quite lucky...

Everyone seems to have written that they've heard the song thousands of times before, but this was my first time hearing it, so that didn't bother me.

I have no fanboy objections to the flash because I have no opinion one way or the other on the current console war, but I do think Sony's gone abit wrong (I work at PC World, and we've sold about 2 PS3's since they were released, whereas the Wii's sell out as soon as we get them).

The animation was really smooth, and the lip-syncing, and timing of the animation, was brilliant. The song also didn't suck, which is a plus, and I found the whole thing pretty funny. Congrats.

DAGamesOfficial responds:

lol gad yu likedit. Thank god ur not a fanboy! Sweet yu work at PC world, I have been meaning to get LOADS of things from PC world, but since we dont live near one my parents are like "NOOOOO ITS TOO FAR AWAAAAAYYY!" lol.

What I don't get...

Is that half these reviews bash the foamy fanboys, but I can almost guarantee that the didn't bother to watch the thing. Its like anti-fanboy behavour. Their minds are made up as soon as they see the name illwillpress. It's kinda ridiculous. It's like it's become cool for people to hate foamy.

If you'd have taken the time to actually watch this one you would've noticed that it was a step in the right direction. I mean, yeah, the drawings and backdrops had been used before, but what actually happened in the cartoon differed from the norm, and it was actually pretty funny.

And before all you foamy haters have a go at me, I'm not a fanboy, not even close. I'm able to open the flash and watch it without judging it beforehand one way or the other. I had felt for the past couple that they were getting stale, but, as I said before, I felt this one was an improvement.

Try not to act like immature children when it comes to illwillpress's flashes. If you actually don't like them (and I mean each individual one), then fair enough, but don't judge all of them because of the foamy franchise, and definitely don't decide to hate foamy because everyone else is. That's just sad.

I voted to save you because of this quote:

"Sprite movies may look cheap, but they are pretty hard and time consuming to make"

Someone finally achnologing (sp?) that sprite movies take time and effort to put together is pretty important to someone like me, who mainly (with a few exceptions), animates sprites.

The movie itself was pretty good aswell, but I'm not sure what you changed from the first time around.

Good luck with the next animation.

export-gold responds:

thanx alot, im just gunna check the movie cuz i may have uploaded the wrong file.
Thanx for acknowledging my comment!

It wasn't a lack of story that made this poor...

The animation was terrible. You kept switching between sprites from different games, the animation was choppy, and the characters would shake about as they were doing anything (use onion skinning to line up the sprites. it takes longer, but it looks smoother). The background was poorly drawn, you would have been better off using a sprite background from a games or something. And don't stretch the sprites, they look awful. Try using a vcam for some camera movement, and work alot more on character animation before you try again.

razveck responds:

yeah, i know, but using differrent sprites was the only way to do what i wanted (although,i only used 2 different types).
i use onion skinning and if it doesnt look like, its coz i meant to!i coulsnt found any background so i had to draw it myself, but im terrible in that.I did NOT stretch any sprite, what sprites do u think are stretched?whats vcam???lol im a n00b

That was quite poor...

I was originally part of this collab, but stopped after I realised that the parts of the collab had no real direction or purpose. The original theme was something falling from the top of the screen, doing something, then falling off. But somewhere along the line that got translated into people who couldn't reach their computer screens. What you ended up with was a jumbled mess of 2 second (poor) animations, which didn't fit, and were put to a song which didn't fit the theme (what little theme there was). A newgrounds collab should be a collection of talented artists who work hard together to achieve a single, impressive piece of work, or a collection of high quality work with a strong theme. What you have here is a collection of sub-par, 2 second, animations with no real theme or purpose, which seem to have been put in any order and submitted before it was even finished.

If this is ever tried again, there needs to be alot more effort, better or more talentd artists, and one strong theme, not two weak ones.

Penboy responds:

I agree that this collab got a bit jumbled up with the theme, but there was nothing I could do about it; I'm just the guy who made the menu.

I don't think anyone will try this collab again, because of all the difficulties ):
But thanks anyway :D
