It wasn't a lack of story that made this poor...

The animation was terrible. You kept switching between sprites from different games, the animation was choppy, and the characters would shake about as they were doing anything (use onion skinning to line up the sprites. it takes longer, but it looks smoother). The background was poorly drawn, you would have been better off using a sprite background from a games or something. And don't stretch the sprites, they look awful. Try using a vcam for some camera movement, and work alot more on character animation before you try again.

razveck responds:

yeah, i know, but using differrent sprites was the only way to do what i wanted (although,i only used 2 different types).
i use onion skinning and if it doesnt look like, its coz i meant to!i coulsnt found any background so i had to draw it myself, but im terrible in that.I did NOT stretch any sprite, what sprites do u think are stretched?whats vcam???lol im a n00b

That was quite poor...

I was originally part of this collab, but stopped after I realised that the parts of the collab had no real direction or purpose. The original theme was something falling from the top of the screen, doing something, then falling off. But somewhere along the line that got translated into people who couldn't reach their computer screens. What you ended up with was a jumbled mess of 2 second (poor) animations, which didn't fit, and were put to a song which didn't fit the theme (what little theme there was). A newgrounds collab should be a collection of talented artists who work hard together to achieve a single, impressive piece of work, or a collection of high quality work with a strong theme. What you have here is a collection of sub-par, 2 second, animations with no real theme or purpose, which seem to have been put in any order and submitted before it was even finished.

If this is ever tried again, there needs to be alot more effort, better or more talentd artists, and one strong theme, not two weak ones.

Penboy responds:

I agree that this collab got a bit jumbled up with the theme, but there was nothing I could do about it; I'm just the guy who made the menu.

I don't think anyone will try this collab again, because of all the difficulties ):
But thanks anyway :D

I owe you.

So I gave this a 5. I used several of your custom sprites in my naruto animation (check it out if you get a chance, you're in the credits).

Anyway, critcisms of the flash itself, you should probably put the frame rate higher, as the animation wasn't quite smooth enough, and you should try to complete the entire fight scene. Otherwise, it was well animated, and seemed to work well.

NessSuccess responds:

cool, a fan of my sprites xD. ill defidently watch your stuff. and i no this was shorta nd all, i amde it a really long tim ago, its not even a flash, its a gif. lol. i started making flash sprite movies a couple weeks ago, ill be submitting my first one probbly tommorow. Itachi VS Kakashi. thc for the review

Can you please tell me where you got those sounds?

The sound effects and voice clips you used made some of the action sequences seem much stronger (like when kabuto made his hands on fire, the sound effect gave a sense of power to it). And the naruto voice clip at the end is basically exactly what I need for my flash. I checked the credits but you didnt mention where you found them, if you could tell me it'd be a great help, thanks.

Anyway, about the movie... The animation seemed to be quite smooth, which made the fight scene alot better. It also loked good as you had the characters jump up fast and fall slow, which made the movements seem more ninja-like. It would have been good to see naruto put up abit of a fight before being knocked out, but I assume we'll see him do more fighting next time, right? The fight itself could have been abit longer, or you could have begun the fight with orochimaru before you ended to flash, just to make the movie slightly longer. That said, it was well made (especially for a first try) and I look forward to the sequel.

Tnks for the review!

was ok

there was abit of tweening in it, but not hugely important. this'll get in. how many people were a part of the project?

DS-Enterprises responds:

just me

awesome... but the thing is...

It was awesome, the thing is though, its not your song is it?

Even though the animation was great (the style and graphics went perfectly with the music), the thing that made this submission stand out was the song, which you contributed nothing toward (which is why i gave sound a 0, even though the song was awesome, i felt i should score what you actually made).

But even not including the song in the review, the piece itself was awesome, entertaining to watch and had great graphics, so i gave it a 10 overall.

Ofcourse, it doesnt actually matter what i think, because i couldnt make anything anywhere near that standard, so feel free to ignore this review completely.

altffour responds:

The song was made by us.

Neil "trapezoid" Cicierega who is co-credited on this flash is also a one man band called "lemon demon"

He did everything song-wise.

cool

the 3d car was wicked, and the animation on the stickmen was really smooth, congrats.

Zielak responds:
